Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Practitioner Scrub Nurse to join our team at Cromwell Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our theatres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate perioperative patient care to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Participate in the delegation and supervision of junior grades, non-registered, and less experienced staff to promote a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records of patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the positioning and preparation of patients for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent cross-infection.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for clinical and operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery.
  • Participate fully as a team member, sharing knowledge and information to promote a cohesive team and achieve team objectives.
Requirements
  • RN – 1st level Registration Adult and/or Children / Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies / ODP Level 3 NVQ / ODA 752.
  • Previous scrub nurse experience.
  • Proven recent perioperative experience.
  • Ability to deliver high standards of care.
