Job Summary

**Job Title:** Workshop Assistant

**Reports to:** Workshop Supervisor

**Job Purpose:

The Workshop Assistant will provide support to the Mechanical Technicians in the workshop, assisting with various day-to-day activities such as inspection, testing, cleaning, and painting of hydraulic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection and testing activities on rental fleet hydraulic equipment to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Complete required documentation and report all defects/requirements to the Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Carry out buffing/shot blasting, cleaning, and painting activities on rental and customer-owned equipment to ensure it is in 'as new' condition prior to dispatch.
  • Assist Workshop Technicians in the completion of operational tasks as required.
  • Participate in general day-to-day workshop and yard housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other related or associated roles, tasks, or duties as instructed and supervised.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures relating to work, administration, HSSEQ, and ESG.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of mechanical and/or hydraulic equipment is desirable.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately with little to no supervision.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Full UK driver's license.
  • National 5 Pass in English & Maths (or equivalent).
  • B2 FLT & Overhead crane certification is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Personal qualities: proactive, self-starter, good working attitude, reliable, and punctual.
