Pastoral Support Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pastoral Support Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school in Hackney. As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily lives of our students, providing emotional and behavioural support to ensure they feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with emotional or behavioural needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student well-being.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, offering feedback and encouragement.
  • Support students in developing positive relationships and social skills.
  • Help to maintain a safe and inclusive school environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people in a pastoral or support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
