Position Overview

The Community Forensic Teams are currently undergoing a significant transformation, presenting an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Forensic Specialist to offer clinical guidance within the mental health and personality disorder forensic pathway. The ideal candidate will be a registered mental health professional with extensive forensic expertise. This role involves leading and mentoring other professionals in the team while managing a community caseload. The successful applicant will also provide specialized consultation and support to non-forensic services, assisting forensic inpatient services in establishing secure discharge pathways for clients.

This position is perfect for individuals with a strong interest in leadership and a commitment to delivering high-quality services.

The selected candidate will demonstrate robust and effective leadership within the Teams, collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure the provision of superior clinical services. You will embody and promote the vision and values of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. The community services represent a rapidly evolving area within the Forensic Division. We seek a talented, dynamic, and dedicated leader passionate about providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver direct clinical care, ensuring that clinical systems are established to monitor and enhance practice and performance.

2. Provide therapeutic interventions and specialized assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team.

3. Operate autonomously and collaboratively with the wider MDT in assessing, diagnosing, planning, and implementing care.

4. Offer clinical guidance and leadership, providing profession-specific advice to the broader team.

5. Collaborate with service users and their families to foster a cooperative approach to individual care and service enhancement.

6. Ensure patient safety, risk reduction, and competent practice for yourself and others.

7. Initiate, assess, and adapt a variety of interventions tailored to individual needs, including delivering therapies and evidence-based practices.

8. Utilize professional judgment to manage risks effectively, particularly in complex and unpredictable situations, while supporting staff in ensuring the safety of individuals, families, and caregivers.

9. Facilitate training programs within the service and support stakeholder training events.

10. Provide advanced clinical expertise in consultancy.

11. Ensure robust processes are in place to support and debrief staff following incidents, applying lessons learned within the service.
