C&E Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Culinary Expert to oversee the kitchen operations at a distinguished group of gastro pubs located in Islington.

The Venue

The client operates a stunning historic gastro pub in Islington featuring an all-day dining menu, a lovely terrace, and a spacious garden.

They are passionate about gastronomy, with a menu centered on seasonal and traditional offerings. Additionally, they provide a diverse selection of British and European lagers, beers, real ales, and ciders, with a wine list curated by a leading expert to perfectly complement their culinary offerings, particularly their smoked meats.

The Candidate

The ideal Lead Culinary Expert will possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong background in a
    fresh produce kitchen
  • Experience with premium smoked meats

Minimum of 3 years in a similar kitchen at the Head Chef level with 2-3 Rosette experience

  • A proven history of managing a professional kitchen, including budget management, GP oversight, and maintaining 5* Food Hygiene standards
  • Positive attitude and a collaborative team player
  • Enthusiasm for developing seasonal menus with full creative control
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork
  • Confidence in leading a team during busy service periods
  • A genuine passion for culinary arts and the drive to mentor and develop your team
