About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As a key member of our Geotechnical Division, you will provide technical services and project management to a variety of projects, leveraging your expertise in tunneling and geotechnical engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare proposals for geotechnical services, including cost estimates and timelines, for civil engineering projects.
  • Plan and execute assignments requiring a broad range of geotechnical engineering expertise.
  • Utilize standard procedures and methods to analyze each unique project, combining technical knowledge with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and third parties to achieve project objectives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage projects to meet client requirements, including briefing and controlling staff and contractors allocated to the project.
  • Direct field activities, including investigation, monitoring, and testing services on construction projects.
  • Attend project meetings and conduct site inspections to provide senior technical guidance and support.
  • Analyze data, including computer analyses, to inform project decisions and optimize outcomes.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, municipal staff, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop junior and intermediate Geotechnical employees, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering, with a post-graduate degree preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical engineering related to tunneling, preferably in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Manage engineering teams consisting of intermediate and junior professionals and technicians.
  • Apply high-level engineering principles to drive project success.
  • Accurately report project assignments on schedule, ensuring timely completion and delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet project objectives.
  • Proven business development skills to generate geotechnical services on projects and attract new clients.
  • Proven mentoring of junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of growth and development.
  • Exercise diplomacy and tact when interacting with staff, clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with standard construction procedures and methodologies.
  • Advanced computer analysis experience, leveraging technical expertise to drive project success.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle, ensuring safe and efficient project execution.
