Early Years Practitioner - Zero Hour Contract

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team on a casual basis to provide cover across our nurseries. As an Early Years Practitioner, you will have the flexibility to pick and choose from available shifts, allowing you to balance your work and personal life.

About the Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will be responsible for promoting a nurturing environment, engaging with children of all ages and developmental skills, and supporting their learning and development through play. You will also be required to complete and record daily observations, plan developmental steps, and comply with policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality childcare, including physical care and hygienic practice, for children aged 4 months – 5 years.
  • Support children, co-workers, and parents, delivering stimulating indoor and outdoor activities, and attending training opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • Ensure the nursery is a safe environment for children, embracing the variety of each day and using initiative to keep children engaged.
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with a Level 2/3 childcare qualification or relevant experience, a commitment to providing high-quality childcare, and an understanding of the developmental needs of children, Statutory Framework, and relevant legislation. You will also need to have basic knowledge of health and safety, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding good practice, and a Paediatric First Aid qualification or willingness to train.
