Job Description

**Job Title:** Area Manager

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to join our team at John Sisk and Son. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of supervisors and operatives, ensuring the safe and quality execution of reactive works on the Western route.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of supervisors and operatives to ensure the safe and quality execution of reactive works.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve safety performance and reduce risk.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure accurate forecasting and performance.
  • Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve quality and reduce defects.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in a project management environment with a similar national/regional contractor.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a strong focus on flexibility and adaptability.
Qualifications and Training:
  • Working towards an academic and/or professional industry-related qualification.
  • CSCS for Managers, SMSTS, First Aid at Work Certificate, CDM Awareness, and Driving License.
  • Desirable: Degree or Diploma in a construction-related subject, Personal Track Safety, and Mandatory training in line with the Sisk Rail Training Matrix.
