Tax Advisory Specialist Opportunity

Clark Wood is seeking a talented Tax Advisory Specialist to join our team in Brighton. As a Tax Advisory Specialist, you will provide comprehensive tax advice across a wide range of sectors, working closely with clients and senior team members to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide expert tax advisory services across corporate and personal tax issues
  2. Prepare tax calculations to support advisory work and client strategies
  3. Draft comprehensive tax reports and letters of advice
  4. Liaise with HMRC on clearance applications and tax enquiries
  5. Work closely with clients and attend meetings with senior team members
  6. Oversee and review the work of junior staff, providing training and guidance
  7. Support Directors and Partners in the Tax Advisory Group on complex tax planning matters
Examples of Work You Will Assist With:
  1. Corporate restructures, EIS/SEIS investor reliefs, and staff incentive schemes
  2. Succession planning and remuneration strategies for owner-managed businesses
  3. Preparation of R&D tax claims, VAT returns, and SDLT returns
  4. Tax advice on Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) mitigation
Requirements:
  1. CTA Qualified, or ACA/ACCA qualified with a strong interest in pursuing the CTA qualification
  2. Experience in corporate taxes is essential; experience in other tax areas is a plus
  3. Strong analytical and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail
  4. Ability to manage deadlines and budgets while maintaining a high standard of work
  5. Good IT skills and a proactive attitude towards learning and development
