Position Overview

Adferiad Recovery is dedicated to providing a supportive environment for young individuals facing challenges related to neurodevelopmental disorders. Our services, funded by Powys County Council, focus on fostering positive connections and addressing issues such as adverse childhood experiences, bullying, and academic pressures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clarify the limits of confidentiality and the process of informed consent to clients.
  • Identify common mental health challenges and gather pertinent information through sensitive and skilled questioning.
  • Deliver and assist in the provision of tailored psychosocial interventions for young individuals impacted by neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Support young people with neurodevelopmental challenges while promoting best practices in care.
  • Manage an individual caseload effectively.
  • Evaluate and monitor risks, developing appropriate risk management strategies.
  • Communicate complex and sensitive information with care, considering cultural and sensory communication barriers.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of Adferiad Recovery, as well as relevant child protection and vulnerable adult protocols.
  • Facilitate referrals to other services as necessary, ensuring compliance with referral processes.
  • Perform administrative duties related to client management when required.
  • Provide interventions in various community settings, including clients' homes.

Adferiad Recovery offers a coordinated response to the unique challenges faced by individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use issues. Our organization combines the expertise of established Welsh charities, including CAIS, Hafal, and WCADA, to deliver a comprehensive approach to meet the needs of our most vulnerable populations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Essential: Relevant qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, or Counseling (minimum NVQ Level 3).
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of Adferiad Recovery, including collaboration, respect, quality care, and continuous learning.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Ability to assess client needs and develop detailed support plans.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals.
  • Experience working with young people and managing mental health issues.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to maintain accurate client records.
