Senior Children's Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team at a stunning children's residential service. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 who present a range of emotional, behavioural, and complex interpersonal behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives
  • Maintain a safe and homely environment
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promoting their independence and well-being
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people
  • Ensure the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication

Requirements:

  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent is ESSENTIAL
  • 2-year experience in a residential children's home environment is ESSENTIAL
  • A Full Driving Licence is ESSENTIAL as you may be required to transport the children from time to time
  • Ability to work the shift pattern (8am-10pm plus sleep ins)
