About the Role

GBR Recruitment Limited is proud to be working exclusively with one of the UK's leading Charities, recruiting for an experienced Director of Fundraising to successfully modify the Fundraising/income strategy and roll it out operationally, securing new income streams, new advocates, and new supporters of such a fantastic cause that is changing lives for the better.

As the Fundraising expert, you will ideally be degree-qualified or have time-served experience in a Senior Fundraising Management/Directorship capacity within a UK Charity/NFP (3rd sector).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Fundraising Strategy: Passionately and professionally lead the highly successful development, implementation, and delivery of the Charity's Fundraising Strategy (5-year strategic plan and onwards).
  • Manage Fundraising Performance: Manage the fundraising department's performance levels, ensuring the delivery of agreed annual fundraising targets (ideally exceeding).
  • Mentor and Coach the Fundraising Team: Mentor, coach, and develop the fundraising team to achieve the best results they can.
  • Maximise Income Revenue Streams: Maximise income revenue streams, plus develop new and diverse sources of income.
  • Promote Innovation: Promote innovation and blue-sky thinking when it comes to fundraising channels/methods.
  • Make Strategic Decisions: Make strategic and educated data-led decisions, based on data analysis/market intelligence.
  • Improve Departmental Processes: Continuously improve and develop departmental processes and fundraising plans (CI-focused).
  • Network with Fundraising Professionals: Professionally network with an array of fundraising professionals and enable the sharing of best practice ideas and the successful identification of opportunities for collaboration.
  • Expand the Charity's Reach: Expand the Charity's reach and exposure, by growing trusting and authentic relationships.
  • Advocate for Fundraising Culture: Be the number one advocate for promoting a culture of fundraising across the Charity.
  • Deliver Top-Class Supporter Stewardship: Deliver top-class supporter stewardship.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance to fundraising legislation, standards, and best practice at all times.
  • Promote Personal Development: Promote the Fundraising team's personal development (L&D/Training/Qualifications).
  • Build Strong Relationships: Build strong professional relationships with colleagues at all levels of the Charity.
  • Contribute to Organisational Strategies: Be a key collaborator for developing wider organisational strategies, actively contributing to cross-departmental planning and development opportunities (key member of the SMT).
  • Work with Marketing and Communications: Work in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team to further enhance the profile of the Charity amongst their current supporters and the public/target audience.
  • Expand the Charity's External Network: Successfully expand the Charity's external network of influence and engagement, seeking opportunities to always maximise the impact of the Charity's fantastic work.
  • Engage with the Board of Trustees: Engage and work closely with the Charity's Board of Trustees, reporting fundraising activity to the board and the wider committee (MI reports).
  • Advocate for the Charity's Core Values: Be a key advocate of the Charity's core values, promoting them both internally and externally.
