Your Role as a Production Trainee

As a Production Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge facilities. Depending on your specific role, your work environment may vary between an office, laboratory, or a combination of both. There may also be chances to travel to different UK locations to collaborate with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.

Program Overview

Leonardo's four-year Manufacturing Apprenticeship program offers extensive learning and development opportunities. You will work towards an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Diploma Level 3. Your apprenticeship will include a series of three-month rotational placements, encompassing Mechanical Assembly, Electromechanical Assembly, Electro-Optic Assembly, and product testing. Additionally, you will attend college on a day-release basis.

Progression and Responsibilities

As you advance through your apprenticeship, you will take part in daily meetings focused on schedule adherence, load boards, and visual Key Performance Indicators. Eventually, you will have the opportunity to mentor and guide junior team members and fellow apprentices.

Key Responsibilities

Throughout your rotational placements, you will collect real work evidence, including written logs that detail your daily tasks and showcase the manufacturing skills you have developed. Your apprenticeship will involve compiling a portfolio of evidence that illustrates your growth into a proficient manufacturing operative through practical training. Concurrently, you will attend college on a day-release basis to obtain vocational qualifications and remain aligned with academic requirements.

Starting Salary: The initial salary for this position is £17,000.
