Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Productivity and Process Improvement Specialist to join our team at Thwaites Ltd. As a key member of our productivity and process engineering team, you will play a crucial role in driving manufacturing efficiency and process optimization across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough work studies and timing calculations to identify areas for improvement in our manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze data to propose and implement productivity enhancements, resulting in cost savings and improved efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive timing study database to track process improvements and identify areas for further optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless implementation of process improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects on the shop floor, utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures and Visual Aids, to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Commission, cost, and purchase necessary tooling and equipment to support manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement safe, repeatable, and efficient processes for existing products and new product introductions.

Requirements

  • Qualified to HND/HNC or above in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in conducting timing studies and implementing process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of manufacturing processes, including laser, press, CNC lathe, and weld.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop actionable recommendations for process improvements.
