We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our psycho-oncology service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychological support to patients living with cancer.
Main Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and delivery of our psycho-oncology service, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide evidence-based psychological interventions.
- Assess and formulate complex psychological presentations, developing and implementing effective treatment plans to support patients and their families.
- Provide supervision, training, and consultation to colleagues, promoting excellence in psychological practice and contributing to the growth and development of our team.
- Collaborate with service leads to drive service development, innovation, and improvement, ensuring our service remains at the forefront of psycho-oncology practice.
- Postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, with eligibility for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience of working with patients with cancer or in a health psychology setting, with a strong understanding of the psychological impact of cancer and its treatment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to work autonomously, with a high level of emotional intelligence and resilience.
