Laboratory Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at Illumina Lab Services. As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of our Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) production service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide line management to clinical laboratory technicians, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Plan and maintain lab schedules to meet daily operational needs, ensuring that production targets are met and customer KPIs are exceeded.
- Supervise the lab team on a day-to-day basis, providing guidance and support to ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with ISO 15189 standards and EH&S requirements.
- Guarantee full compliance with the International Standard (ISO 15189) and EH&S requirements, ensuring that all team members adhere to existing Risk Assessments (RAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions (WIs).
- Recommend changes to team processes to improve team effectiveness and efficiency.
- Identify training requirements to support individual development and maintain efficient operations.
- Take responsibility for the efficient use of all lab equipment within the clinical laboratories.
- Troubleshoot issues affecting day-to-day lab production, identifying rapid solutions to maintain targets and quality.
- Contribute to overall team goals while maintaining individual output.
