Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

A prestigious Avionics business with a legacy of excellence and innovation is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to lead their growing design team and drive growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept to completion.
  • Develop and execute detailed project plans to ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs.
  • Mentor and guide a team of mechanical design engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Conduct thorough feasibility studies, simulations, and analyses to validate design concepts.
  • Create comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using advanced CAD software.
  • Oversee prototyping, testing, and iteration processes to ensure designs meet performance and safety standards.
  • Facilitate design reviews and provide strategic input on design enhancements and new technologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in avionics and mechanical design, integrating best practices into the team's workflow.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design, particularly in the avionics industry.
  • Proven track record of leading design projects from concept to delivery.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Excellent understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes relevant to avionics.
