The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at King's College Hospital is a premier establishment dedicated to delivering exceptional level 3 Medical and Surgical care for critically ill term and preterm infants. Our unit is equipped with 36 cots and serves as a vital referral center for a broad region.
We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality care, which has led to one of the lowest mortality rates nationally. Collaborating with a team of specialized Neonatal therapists, we focus on achieving optimal Neurodevelopmental outcomes for our patients. Our approach includes Family Integrated Care and the implementation of Parent-led ward rounds in our less critical areas.
As part of our experienced team, you will receive comprehensive support from our Professional Development Nurses and Senior Sisters. We provide a customized orientation program and a clear career pathway to foster your professional advancement.
Our collaboration with the sister unit – LNU at PRUH offers exciting cross-site opportunities for Junior Sister positions.
Our maternity department oversees over 6,000 deliveries each year and is supported by the renowned Harris Birthright Fetal Medicine Centre, led by a distinguished expert.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, oversee, and coordinate clinical care for infants requiring specialized nursing attention
- Assist colleagues in enhancing their nursing competencies
- Encourage future nursing leadership
- Provide tailored professional guidance and clinical development
