Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, from promoting the significance of environmental performance measurement to offering comprehensive support through webinars, workshops, and various resources.

About CDP

CDP operates as a not-for-profit organization that manages the global disclosure framework for investors, corporations, cities, states, and regions to address their environmental impacts. Recognized as the benchmark for environmental reporting, CDP provides the most extensive and detailed dataset on corporate and urban actions. Our recent strategic plan aims to accelerate the pace of change in environmental practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating the annual reporting process for all participating UK cities while offering additional support to cities across the EMEA region.
  • Encouraging local government entities to disclose their environmental data through CDP by utilizing various outreach methods, including personalized communication and organized events.
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of both online and in-person events and workshops.
  • Enhancing the quality of reported data by providing tailored technical assistance.
  • Building and maintaining relationships using CDP's customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Contributing to data analysis efforts and creating materials that highlight the importance of environmental disclosure.
  • Supporting campaigns and partnerships with organizations throughout the UK.
  • Assisting the UK Cities Manager and EMEA Regional Manager in their regional activities.
  • Representing CDP and the urban program at various conferences and webinars.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in urban and/or climate-related fields.
  • A solid understanding of climate change mitigation and adaptation challenges in urban settings.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with a knack for conveying complex information clearly.
  • Experience in providing support in a client-facing role.
  • Familiarity with the role of reporting in local climate governance.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and quick to learn new IT systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment and effectively manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Self-driven with a proactive approach.
  • A collaborative team player who can perform well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality outcomes.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in environmental studies or sustainability.
  • Direct experience working with governmental bodies.
  • Public speaking experience.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management software.
  • Proficiency in an additional European language.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range is £30,626 - £32,150 per annum, depending on experience, along with 30 days of holiday (excluding public holidays), a generous non-contributory pension scheme, annual discretionary bonuses based on company performance, and various other benefits.

This role is a fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension based on available resources.
