An exciting opportunity has arisen with City of York Council for an experienced professional to lead the Area Repairs Team in delivering an excellent level of customer service. The team is responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance to the Council's 7800 domestic properties, ensuring legislative requirements are met, quality is maintained, and financial expenditure is controlled.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of skilled tradespeople, ensuring effective project delivery and compliance with customer contracts.
  • Monitor cost and performance of the Reactive Repairs Team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Ensure the service is focused on the needs of its customers, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Significant experience of managing a housing repairs service, delivering excellent performance, and meeting legislative requirements.
  • Proven awareness and understanding of Health and Safety legislation and management, with a valid Health and Safety qualification such as SMSTS, IOSH, or equivalent.
  • Ability to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public in spoken English to CEFR level C1.
