Key Responsibilities:
  • Employ digital forensic methodologies and tools to assist in internal investigations and utilize both host-based and network forensic techniques to gather intelligence on indicators of compromise (IOCs) and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of threat actors and malware, facilitating information sharing across internal teams.
  • Utilize hands-on experience to formulate strategies for proactively identifying threat actors in scenarios lacking alerts or rule-based systems.
  • Conduct thorough examinations of systems potentially compromised within critical IT infrastructure, providing root cause analyses, impact evaluations, and swift responses to aid in identifying responsible parties while offering recommendations to prevent future incidents.
  • Draft comprehensive reports detailing forensic investigations, breach incidents, privacy breaches, and data exposure cases.
  • Contribute to the creation of internal training programs to uphold exemplary high-tech investigative standards.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills essential for interpreting investigative needs, delivering technical guidance, and documenting analytical findings in detail.
  • Initiate and execute innovative forensic research and development projects to remain ahead of emerging technologies and bolster cybersecurity defenses.
  • Establish and implement protocols for identifying, managing, collecting, preserving, analyzing, and documenting findings.
  • Design and enforce digital forensics and data protection security solutions and standards, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Customize audit procedures for the organization's digital forensics environment, assess incident response and evidence handling protocols, and provide recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Technology, and Human Resources departments to support incident response, legal actions, and compliance initiatives.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in digital forensics, incident response, e-discovery, and malware analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer forensic best practices and industry-standard methodologies for conducting host-based and network analysis.
  • A proven history in live digital forensics, log-file examination, and network forensics.
  • Experience in investigating data compromise incidents, networking protocols, and packet analysis, utilizing industry-standard tools (e.g., X-Ways, EnCase, Volatility, Rekall, Wireshark, SIFT, Cellebrite).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to perform forensic examinations.
  • Capable of articulating and visually presenting complex forensic investigation results and analyses.
  • Proficient in coordinating with and gaining the trust of business stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in conducting forensic analyses, coupled with the ability to maintain comprehensive documentation supporting investigations.
  • Expertise in multiple scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript, PowerShell) with the capability to create, debug, and modify scripts for task automation and data manipulation.
  • Advanced understanding of digital forensics tools and techniques, including memory forensics, network traffic analysis, and malware reverse engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop digital forensics solutions and standards.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Experience in malware reverse engineering.
  • Industry-recognized digital forensics certifications (e.g., GCFA, GNFA, GCFE, CFCE).
  • Industry-standard information security technology certifications (e.g., GCIH, GREM).
  • Ability to automate tasks using a scripting language (e.g., Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash).
