About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Clarke Energy. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for producing electrical design packages for our power generation projects, ensuring they meet the functional and contractual specifications of secured orders.

Your primary focus will be on translating and developing conceptual designs into detailed designs, using software to carry out load flow, fault analysis, and protection studies. You will also support the sales stage of projects by providing design and tender preparation documents to customers.

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will work closely with our mechanical design engineers, CAD draughtsmen, and project managers to ensure timely production of design packages and adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and detail specifications for electrical design packages
  • Carry out load flow, fault analysis, and protection studies using software
  • Support sales stage of projects by providing design and tender preparation documents
  • Liaise with mechanical design engineers and CAD draughtsmen to ensure design packages are produced to required standards
  • Provide support to project managers during design, installation, commissioning, and testing phases
  • Participate in HAZOP and risk assessment studies
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality management policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (HNC/HND with substantial relevant experience)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in power generation industry (1-25MW)
  • Knowledge of low and medium voltage power trains and associated control and instrumentation
  • Good IT skills - MS Office
