We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Mentor to join our team at Randstad. As a Specialist Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting autistic students at CU Scarborough University, helping them to achieve their academic goals and overcome challenges.
Key Responsibilities:- Student Support: Provide one-to-one support to students, helping them to understand their academic requirements, develop time management and organizational skills, and overcome barriers to learning.
- Strategic Planning: Work with students to set and achieve academic goals, develop strategies to overcome challenges, and build on their strengths.
- Confidentiality and Professionalism: Maintain confidentiality and act professionally at all times, sharing relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best possible service to students.
- Qualifications: Must be qualified to undergraduate degree level (level 6 as minimum) and have taken extensive training in adult autism.
- Training and Experience: Must have completed 6 National Autistic Society Modules (non-medical helper package) or The Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education: Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies.
- Desirable Skills: Experience of working with autistic clients, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths, punctuality and reliability, good organizational skills, and ability to manage a caseload of students.
- Flexible Working Hours: Select your own schedule to suit your needs.
- Competitive Pay: £28 per hour plus accrued holiday pay at £3.38 per hour.
