About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team at the Structural Engineering Alliance Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and managing structural engineering projects from small domestic extensions to large multistorey apartment and office developments.

Our team employs 50 staff undertaking civil & structural engineering designs and has been serving the Construction Industry for over 25 years. We offer a diverse portfolio of projects with unique challenges, providing opportunities for career progression and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage structural engineering projects using the latest design software.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables and monitoring progress.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards, i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG SSG etc.
  • Problem solver able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative and proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
  • Good time management and organizational skills to efficiently manage workload.
  • A good knowledge of the CDM regulations in addition to British standards and EU regulations.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
