Quality Assurance Leader - Automotive

Location: South Wales

Compensation: Circa £60k + pension + bonus (approximately £5k) + Benefits

A unique opportunity to become part of a leading tier 1 automotive supplier specializing in the production of interior and exterior plastic injection molded components for prominent OEMs. This organization is known for its high-volume manufacturing capabilities and has a reputation for meeting the stringent quality demands of its clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a dedicated team of 11 quality specialists.
  • Ensure the effective maintenance of the quality management system.
  • Coordinate with third-party certification bodies and manage non-conformities arising from external audits.
  • Maintain comprehensive QMS documentation.
  • Address customer concerns and manage warranty claims effectively.
  • Provide detailed reports on the performance of the quality management system and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Monitor and report on quality KPIs including Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), parts per million (PPMs), and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Implement measurement systems in production to oversee process capability.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or plastics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong background in the automotive sector, particularly within Tier 1 or Tier 2 supply chains.
  • Formal training in Quality Management Systems and Standards.
  • Qualification as a trainer.
  • Experience or certification in auditing (ISO9001 and/or IATF 16949).
  • Familiarity with Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC).
  • Proficient in the use of measurement equipment.
  • Highly skilled in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, SAP, and customer portals.
  • Completion of CCC Certification Training.
