Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Examiner to join our team at the Scottish Police Authority. As a Forensic Examiner, you will play a critical role in the recovery and analysis of evidence, working closely with our team to ensure that justice is served.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and accurate examinations of evidence, using a range of scientific techniques and equipment.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for the recovery and analysis of evidence, working closely with our team to ensure that all evidence is thoroughly examined and analyzed.
  • Collaborate with other forensic experts to ensure that all evidence is properly documented and preserved, and that all findings are accurately reported.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest scientific techniques and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our forensic capabilities.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure that all evidence is properly handled and stored, and that all findings are accurately reported.
Requirements
  • Education to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant science-related subject.
  • Proven experience in a forensic environment, with a strong understanding of forensic science and its applications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legislation and guidelines, including Health and Safety, COSHH, and contamination guidelines.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently, with a strong attention to detail.
