Role Overview:

In the capacity of Family Engagement Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing family-oriented services at HMP Coldingley on a temporary basis. Your role will encompass managing casework, visitor center operations, children's services, and facilitating family group interventions.


Key Duties:
  • Family Support: Offer guidance and assistance to prisoners and their families to foster or improve positive relationships.
  • Case Management: Perform assessments and establish referral pathways for families to access suitable services.
  • Visitor Center Operations: Supervise the visitor center, ensuring it is operational, staffed, and provides accurate information to guests.
  • Children's Services: Lead and implement high-quality programs for children of incarcerated individuals, including supervised play sessions and risk evaluations.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and oversee staff, volunteers, and student placements.
  • Local Service Implementation: Develop and execute the local operational strategy, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Work in conjunction with prison personnel, departments, and external organizations to enhance family services.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Understanding of the criminal justice system and its effects on prisoners and their families.
  • Experience engaging with diverse populations, including vulnerable women and children.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Capability to thrive in a challenging environment and manage a heavy workload.
  • Background in casework, safeguarding, and health and safety practices.
