At Steelway Fensecure Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our company's growth and financial operations.
Responsibilities:- Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day transactional finance tasks, working closely with all areas of transactional finance as necessary, providing support during peak times and holiday cover.
- Oversee the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, and credit control processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations, log creditor payments, and ensure the accounts system matches the bank.
- Prepare and process month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany journals.
- Conduct ad-hoc customer account reconciliations to handle discrepancies and provide support to the payroll assistant.
- Assist with the preparation of month-end P&L reports and VAT reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit CIS reports, sub-contractor statements, and monthly pension uploads to the scheme provider.
- Administer employee benefit schemes and maintain the company motor insurance portal.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role with similar responsibilities.
- AAT qualification advantageous but not essential; QBE also considered.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in financial data entry and record-keeping.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, such as Sage.
- Understanding of purchase ledger/sales ledger processes, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of account reconciliation and discrepancy resolution.
- A proactive, collaborative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
