Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced journalist to join our team as a Bristol City Reporter, responsible for building a community of readers online and in real life. As the face of our Bristol City coverage, you will be tasked with delivering high-quality stories, interviews, features, and live blogs that showcase your analytical eye and creative storytelling skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong online presence, engaging with readers and promoting our content through social media and other digital channels.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, including players, coaches, and other football professionals.
  • Write compelling features and long-read articles that provide insight into the world of football and the EFL.
  • Deliver breaking news and live updates, utilizing your analytical skills to provide context and analysis.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement content strategies that drive engagement and growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in football, including news, trends, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a journalist, with a strong portfolio of work and a deep understanding of the football industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of football, including the EFL, Bristol City, and other relevant teams and leagues.
  • Strong analytical and creative skills, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative story ideas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with readers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong digital publishing skills, including experience with content management systems, video production, and photography.
  • A full clean driving license is preferable.
