About the Role:
TalentTrade Recruitment is seeking an experienced Head of Fire, Health and Safety to lead our client's health and safety initiatives. As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety policies, procedures, and programs across the business.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive health and safety strategy that supports the overall business objectives.
- Lead the development of long-term health and safety plans, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Lead and mentor a team of H&S Advisors across multiple locations and business entities, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of safety initiatives.
- Establish health and safety plans for the team for the year to come in line with the overall health and safety strategy, ensuring any associated programs are up to date.
- Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring ownership and assuming responsibility for the company's accreditations, specifically to ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management Systems.
Requirements:
- Detailed knowledge and operational experience of ensuring compliance with ISO 18001/45001 Health and Safety Management Systems, H&S Legislation, and NEBOSH Diploma, Degree or NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Experienced and confident in writing and reviewing health and safety procedures in line with legislation and management systems.
- Proven background in leading a Health and Safety team setting clear objectives aligned to goals.
- Experience of driving a Health and Safety culture creating an environment where good practices are a way of everyday life and total compliance is adhered to.
- Driving license and ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK spending nights away from home from time to time.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Chartered member of the IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
