About the Role:

We are seeking a Health and Safety Professional to join our team at Trant Engineering Ltd. As a key member of our SHEQ department, you will be responsible for managing Health and Safety Advisors and reporting directly to the Head of SHEQ & Training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and develop the Health and Safety culture by driving our continuous improvement strategy programme.
  • Identify ways of ensuring all personnel are aware of our strategy programme and are actively engaged.
  • Provide accurate, current HSE advice for minimising and avoiding risks associated with day-to-day work.
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and review protective and preventative safety measures, while working with all stakeholders.
  • Engage our teams in operating safely and deliver safety improvements that are lead from the front line.
  • Actively collaborate in all contracts geographical areas to assist with fulfilment of team objectives.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to operational and management teams.
  • Liaise with clients on performance and provide root cause analysis to aid relevant coaching and feedback.
  • Prioritise, investigate, and report on all accidents and incidents.
  • Assist in the production of operational documentation such as RAMS and CPP.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH construction certificate / NEBOSH general certificate with construction experience.
  • Experience of working in a CDM environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Member of IOSH or IIRSM.
  • Appreciation / Understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
  • IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and use of the internet.
  • A strong background of working within the construction and/or utilities sector.
