About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as an Apprenticeship and Learning Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Education, Learning and Development Lead to ensure the seamless management and monitoring of our apprenticeship programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage apprenticeship programme provision, sourcing, promoting and coordinating providers and programmes.
  • Analyse data and monitor/evaluate and develop reports to drive continuous improvements.
  • Be a point of contact and subject matter expert for Apprenticeships, working in partnership with colleagues across the region.
  • Line manage the Apprenticeship and Learning Officer.
  • Liaise with stakeholders such as training providers and other apprenticeship coordinators to develop programme opportunities and learn and share best practice.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Educated to degree level
    • Postgraduate degree or a willingness to complete postgraduate apprenticeship programme commensurate with role
    • Degree level education or equivalent acquired through experience/other
    • Evidence of professional development
  • Desirable:
    • Management qualification
    • Project manager qualification
Knowledge and Expertise
  • Essential:
    • Detailed understanding and expertise of structure of vocational learning within England, including structure of Apprenticeships and qualifications
    • Expert knowledge of Apprenticeship funding rules/regulations and the national DAS system
    • Knowledge of current apprenticeship landscape and ESFA funded learning
    • Understanding the principles of commissioning training interventions
    • Understanding of performance management within a learning function
    • Knowledge of learning and development approaches/methods
    • Knowledge of NHS procurement procedures
    • Ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships
    • Professional presence with competent presentation skills
    • Ability to design, cost and plan projects to maximise value.
    • Excellent communicator (verbally and written) with the ability to influence and persuade decision makers.
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge of quality improvement techniques
    • An understanding of mental health care provision, together with an awareness and appreciation of current NHS policy and priorities in relation to mental health services
Experience
  • Essential:
    • Significant experience of involvement in the delivery of Apprenticeship levy and vocational learning
    • Experience of fund/budget management or finance levy funding and contract commissioning and management
    • Proven planning and organisational experience of delivery of projects in a cross-functional, collaborative organisation
    • Experience of staff development and team management
    • Experience of liaising and working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
    • Understanding of management information and its importance in service delivery;
    • Experience of managing a customer-facing service
    • High level of oral and written communications skills- including evidence of delivering presentations and report writing experience / competence;
    • Advanced Keyboard Skills and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel - to include Pivots, Formulas & Functions, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Desirable:
    • Previous experience of supporting learners
