Full-Time (Hybrid)

Our mission is to foster a more resilient future.

We are a global insurance and reinsurance provider with a strong local presence.

Position Highlights

We are seeking an Actuarial Reserving Specialist to become a vital member of our Actuarial Reserving team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Reserving Manager, you will offer actuarial insights to various business units, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring the technical integrity of the work performed.

Your role will include delivering quarterly reserving insights, contributing to business strategy, analyzing reserve variability, and collaborating with business partners to conduct in-depth analyses of relevant portfolio segments, supporting the Actuarial Manager as necessary.

Key Duties:

  • Conduct forecasting of technical provisions, reserve margins, and uncertainties to aid in business analysis, reporting, strategic planning, and profitability assessments.
  • Assist senior team members in navigating complexities and clarifying key assumptions to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop student actuaries.
  • Supervise a small team, delegating tasks and managing priorities while providing performance feedback and professional guidance to junior members.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, striving for process efficiencies and challenging existing practices.
  • Oversee and enhance actuarial processes to ensure ongoing delivery and improvement.
  • Implement appropriate checks within processes to minimize inaccuracies in your work and the review of others.
  • Utilize and contribute to the development of systems and procedures to ensure accurate data usage and effective analyses. This includes adopting efficient actuarial models and technologies where applicable.
  • Plan and execute complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Manage your own workflow and operate largely independently, seeking support when necessary.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance customer focus.
  • Stay informed about developments in the broader actuarial community to remain current with industry trends.
  • Maintain a strategic perspective, considering long-term implications and contributing to team planning.
  • Understand the impact of the regulatory landscape on technical work.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have experience in the actuarial field within a multinational financial services organization, preferably in General Insurance. You will be familiar with industry best practices in actuarial analysis, modeling, underwriting, and risk management.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in engaging with broader business units and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret numerical data.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools, with the capability to develop advanced models to meet business needs.
  • Ability to critically assess established processes and propose enhancements.
  • Experience working in an agile environment, responsive to stakeholder demands.
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
