About the Role

This is a senior Financial Controller role that will work closely with a well-established and highly regarded Finance Director. As the #2 position in this finance team of 8, you will be responsible for managing a broad range of duties, including:

  • Overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring adherence to deadlines, automation, and control processes.
  • Delivering high-quality financial reporting, including profit and cash flow forecasts, budget creation and presentation, management accounts, and external benchmarking to support key management decisions.
  • Providing coaching and feedback to operational managers to enhance their understanding of financial responsibilities.
  • Fostering discussions with the wider team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Establishing and maintaining key financial relationships (e.g., banks, external auditors, property managers, insurance providers).
  • Continuously refining compliance and risk management strategies.
  • Ensuring proactive tax compliance and planning, covering PAYE, VAT, and corporation tax.
  • Managing fixed assets and the company property portfolio.
  • Participating in broader company initiatives.
  • Leading and developing the finance team, supporting their career growth and fostering business collaboration.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will ideally be fully qualified in either ACA, CIMA, or ACCA. You will also have current or previous experience at a similar level in a fast-paced SME environment. Experience of working in a multi-site and/or hospitality business is advantageous. A positive and progressive mindset with an appetite to develop the finance function and team further is essential.

What We Offer

You will be joining a highly motivated group of professionals and will receive a salary of £55-60k + benefits + on-site parking. Ad-hoc incentives and rewards are also available.
