Job Summary

Oral Health Improvement Practitioner (OHIP) for Vulnerable Adults, Learning Disabilities and with Dementia

About the Role

This part-time post is based within the Community Dental Service at Llanfrechfa Grange Hospital. The post holder will operate in a range of locations across Gwent, providing comprehensive Oral Health Promotion training for patients, healthcare workers, and carers as required.

Main Duties
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive Oral Health Promotion (OHP) and training for vulnerable adults with complex medical and physical needs and their carers.
  • Work autonomously to deliver the Gwen am Byth a lasting smile programme for OHP vulnerable adults living in the community.
  • Provide preventative care such as fluoride varnish application as required.
Requirements
  • GDC registered as a DCP
  • Oral Health Promotion Certificate
  • Trained in the application of Fluoride varnish
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualifications in food and nutrition skills
  • Smoking cessation
  • Special Care Dentistry Certificate
  • Experience of leading or managing teams
