Job Overview

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing intricate and non-standard tasks related to mechanical services. This role involves the calibration and troubleshooting of various engineering systems and equipment, including Low Pressure Hot Water Systems, General Air Conditioning Controls, Steam Raising Plant, Steam Sterilizers, Medical Gas Pipe Systems, and Natural Gas Systems.

The technician will carry out maintenance, repairs, minor enhancements, and capital projects across the organization as directed by management, ensuring adherence to safety standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Band 4

The position will remain open until a sufficient number of applications have been received.

The technician will engage in complex and non-routine activities in electrical and mechanical services. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing the organization's plant and equipment, as well as manufacturing, assembling, erecting, installing, and testing new systems and services. The role requires performing various duties as necessary, in line with the evolving needs of the organization, including fault analysis, testing, manufacturing, replacing, isolating, modifying, inspecting, improving, installing, maintaining, and repairing all electrical services, plant, and equipment in compliance with best practice guidelines, operational maintenance manuals, and statutory regulations. A proactive approach to all forms of maintenance, effective site resource management, and security is essential.

The technician will maintain and document service records and breakdown reports using the current Facilities Management system. They will provide technical input and guidance to team members on all electrical matters and complete surveys as required by management, supplying detailed technical reports.
