Westlakes Recruit is actively seeking several seasoned Safety Case Engineers, preferably with a background in the nuclear sector, for permanent positions. These roles offer hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective customer management by collaborating with clients and supply chain on design matters, and assist in developing procurement specifications.
  • Ensure that all procedures, codes, and standards are accurately identified and applied to engineering and technical tasks.
  • Communicate project and task risks effectively.
  • Contribute to the Product Safety Assessment process.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with both internal and external stakeholders at a detailed level.
  • Engage in process enhancement within the operational and/or design lifecycle to achieve continuous improvements in quality, cycle time, and asset utilization.
  • Utilize engineering domain expertise to create technical solutions and documentation in support of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Generate, review, and verify outputs, including calculations, analyses, technical reports, specifications, and method statements.
  • Ensure that appropriate review, verification, and approval processes are conducted on all work performed.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor assigned tasks and projects, ensuring that requirements are met in terms of time, quality, and cost.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members to enhance their effectiveness and professional development.
  • Assist the Project Manager in the planning, control, and delivery of tasks and projects.
  • Make engineering decisions within your area of responsibility and delegated authority.

    Qualifications Required:
    Essential:
  • Degree in engineering (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline, with substantial demonstrable experience.
  • Experience in collaborative work within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a variety of project types.
  • Proven experience in managing diverse tasks.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with other disciplines.

    Desirable:
  • Chartered Status or actively pursuing Chartered Status.
  • Membership in a relevant institute or significant engineering experience that qualifies for registration with the Engineering Council.
