Specialist Nurse Children in Care Professional

Livewell Southwest is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Nurse to join our Children in Care Nursing team. As a Specialist Nurse, you will play a vital role in improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people in care and care leavers.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake comprehensive statutory review health assessments for children aged 6 months to 18 years, using a trauma-informed approach.
- Compile and implement holistic health plans, providing expert clinical advice and health education to children and young people in care.
- Work in partnership with Social Workers, foster carers, and other professionals to provide interventions that promote the health and wellbeing of children in care.
- Develop and deliver training on factors affecting the health and wellbeing of children in care to a range of professionals.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to children in care.
- Qualified to diploma/degree level as a Registered General Nurse, Registered Children's Nurse, or Registered Mental Health Nurse.
- Level 3 training in Safeguarding children.
- Experience of working in the community, including working with children or young people with complex emotional needs.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of current legislation and guidance related to children in care and safeguarding children.
- Protected CPD time for registered staff.
- Various development pathways and ongoing regular training packages for all staff.
- Leadership and mentoring programmes.
- Access and funding for training, including the Care Certificate, Assistant Practitioners Course, and Scholarship into Nurse Training.
- A robust preceptorship programme.
- A bespoke induction programme.
