Gowen Stevens Solicitors is seeking a skilled Conveyancing Assistant to join their busy Conveyancing Department. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in managing conveyancing files from instruction through to completion, ensuring seamless communication with clients, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and submission of relevant documentation, including contracts, transfer deeds, and other legal documents.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing their queries promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements throughout the conveyancing process, including anti-money laundering checks and client due diligence.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the conveyancing team, including managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate client records.
- Assist with post-completion tasks, including submitting applications to the Land Registry and handling Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) submissions.
- Relevant conveyancing knowledge and experience are essential.
- A solid understanding of the residential conveyancing process, including knowledge of Land Registry and SDLT requirements.
- Basic understanding of in-house IT systems, with experience of BigHand digital dictation and/or Leap Case Management being an advantage.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills, with first-rate customer service skills.
- Good IT skills, with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
Gowen Stevens Solicitors offers a competitive salary of £28,000 to £32,000 per annum, plus benefits including 28 days holiday, enhanced sick pay scheme, auto-enrolment pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. If you have the right skills and experience for this role, we would like to hear from you.
