Job Title: Naval Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Naval Architect to join our Special Projects Team at North Star. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, producing drawings, and collaborating with our Design SMEs to deliver innovative solutions for new constructions, vessel repairs, and modifications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce detailed drawings for new constructions, vessel repairs, and modifications.
  • Collaborate with our Design SMEs to develop and implement new technologies and solutions.
  • Work with our Environmental Officer and other supporting functions to support the compilation of sustainability reports and document submittals.
  • Engage with New Construction Teams onshore and onsite to support project needs.
  • Produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD and other software suites as requested by North Star Clients.
  • Review, input, and develop test procedures, including computer modeling and scale models.
  • Identify solutions in support of technical/operational challenges and inputting to vessel repairs.
  • Write reports and documentation as required and dictated by Projects and Management system.
  • Give presentations in support of Operational, Technical, and Commercial needs.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant subject, such as Naval Architecture.
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA).
  • Relevant shipyard/design office work experience.
