Tearfund Nigeria is seeking a qualified indigene of Oyo state to fill the role of Office Assistant for the Strengthening Women Economic Empowerment Project (SWEEP). The details of the position are outlined below:
Position Title: Office Assistant
Compensation: NGN 3,992, Gross per annum
Location: Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria
Work Hours: Full-time; 40 hours per week
Contract Duration: 1 year
This position is a local national package; applicants must have the right to work in Nigeria.
The Office Assistant will be tasked with maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the Ibadan office premises.
The role will also involve supporting logistical operations in the Ibadan office, including driving and ensuring the maintenance and safety of Tearfund vehicles. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all vehicles are in excellent mechanical condition through regular servicing and maintenance.
- Managing vehicle logs and ensuring accurate reporting of vehicle movements at the end of each month.
- Driving Tearfund vehicles safely, transporting personnel and goods while keeping vehicles in optimal condition.
- Ensuring all vehicles are equipped with security systems and collaborating with the Logistics Manager to maintain fleet security.
- Assisting the Logistics Officer in coordinating with the dispatch team to stay informed about delivery and transport situations.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A secondary school or college certificate in any field
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in cleaning and sanitation
- At least 3 years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in planning and coordinating logistics activities, including transportation and inventory management
- Proven experience in logistics and project implementation support
- Proficiency in the primary local language (Yoruba) and fluent in English
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills
- Computer literacy, including experience with MS Word and Excel
- Ability to communicate confidently about personal faith and an understanding of Christian relief and development issues
- General office management and maintenance skills
- Creativity and problem-solving abilities
