About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist for Older Adults, you will be responsible for leading and developing a new service for functional mental health needs in older adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic care with an emphasis on medical assessment and diagnosis, pharmacological treatment, and medicines management.
  • Work closely with the Inpatient and Crisis Teams to provide consultation and advice on complex patient cases.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and reduce length of stay.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from different professional backgrounds to ensure high-quality care.
Requirements
  • Consultant OA Psychiatry qualification.
  • Experience in in-patient care for older adults.
  • Knowledge of older adult research and its application in clinical practice.
