Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our client's team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with young people in an alternative provision, supporting their educational and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting teachers in the planning and implementation of lessons tailored to individual student needs
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students
  • Helping to create a safe and engaging classroom environment
  • Supporting students with special educational needs and behavioural challenges
  • Assisting with classroom management and strong behavioural support is needed in the most challenging times
  • Preparing learning materials and resources
  • Supervising students during break times and school activities
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role with SEND/SEMH/behaviour is highly desirable
  • A passion for working with young people and supporting their educational journey
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the school
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • A DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
