About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineering Manager to join our team at Nigel Wright Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of software engineers to deliver cutting-edge solutions using modern technologies and agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers to deliver large-scale projects on time and on-budget
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for team growth and development, including career progression planning and performance coaching
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and improve processes
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform technical decisions and drive innovation
  • Work closely with the Head of Engineering to align team goals with company objectives

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading a team of software engineers in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, including SOLID and agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of company goals and objectives

What We Offer

This is a permanent role with a competitive salary of £70-80,000 depending on experience. The successful candidate will be required to spend 1 day per week in the office, either in Newcastle or London.
