Job Title: Software Engineering Team Lead

At the BBC, we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineering Team Lead to join our Data Insights team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the design, implementation, and operation of our software products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of software engineers in the development of software products and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and strategies to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality software products and services that meet business needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in leading software engineering teams and delivering complex software projects.
  • Strong technical skills in software engineering, including programming languages, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles and testing methodologies.
