THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners is partnering with a software provider backed by a reputable Private Equity fund to find a Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. This role will drive strategic growth through mergers and acquisitions, identifying opportunities and executing transactions to expand the company's presence and support its inorganic and organic growth objectives.

THE ROLE:

  • Develop and execute the company's mergers and acquisitions strategy, focusing on identifying and evaluating acquisition targets to support revenue and EBITDA growth objectives.
  • Build a robust pipeline of potential assets, screening and prioritizing targets based on strategic fit and actionability while maintaining oversight of all M&A activity.
  • Establish and maintain a strong network of advisors and industry contacts to source potential acquisition opportunities across various geographies.
  • Lead end-to-end transaction execution, including due diligence, negotiation, and integration planning, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Drive and coordinate strategic projects that support the company's growth ambitions.
  • Serve as a point person between departments, fostering collaboration and alignment on key initiatives.
  • Coordinate project execution, monitor progress, and address any issues or obstacles to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ability to build connectivity internally, recommend action, and present final recommendations to senior management, the board, and investors based on target prioritization and strategic rationale/fit.
  • Ability to lead on execution, negotiate agreements, project manage advisors, and build financial models.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 13 years of prior experience, including at least 3 in a Business Development role, and ideally from an Investment Banking/PE background prior to that. Preferably with experience in Information Services or adjacent Services/Software business models.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven negotiation expertise to originate deals independently and provide fluent reports to the CEO and Board.
  • Experience working in a Private Equity-backed corporate or environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with an aptitude for synthesizing large amounts of information and developing innovative solutions.
  • Confident and highly credible with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, able to establish initial relationships with vendors.
  • Ideal candidate has strong Investment Banking and industry links to ensure a holistic view of competitors, valuations, and trends.
  • Willingness to be in the office at least 2-3 days per week and to travel internationally when needed.
