Sewell Wallis is assisting a private equity-backed business, a dynamic and growing company, in seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to join their finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director.

The company is highly acquisitive and has a great culture, offering opportunities for ambitious individuals to progress as they continue to flourish. As Financial Accounting Manager, you will oversee the finance team and take responsibility for the management reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of financial information.
  • Manage monthly management reporting, leading the year-end statutory accounts audit, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Lead a team of finance assistants, overseeing their tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department.
  • Produce and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the provision of financial information for the monthly board pack, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Produce and manage a rolling weekly cashflow forecast, enabling proactive financial planning.
  • Manage the integrity of the nominal ledger, ensuring accurate and reliable financial data.

Requirements:

  • Experience in financial management, with a strong background in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of finance assistants.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve financial issues.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
