This pivotal role is accountable for supervising the financial reporting functions of the Group and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards across all operational territories. Key responsibilities encompass the management of all transactional records and the preparation of both management and statutory financial statements. This includes ownership of the monthly financial reports, cash flow management, and the annual audit process.

The ideal candidate will engage actively in finance-related projects, including system implementations and various financial initiatives. This position necessitates experience in collaborating with senior leadership and influencing key stakeholders. You will be at the forefront of financial reporting, controls, and compliance while continuously seeking to enhance processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Financial Operations Manager (including but not limited to):

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory financial statements along with all other financial documentation.
  • Identify, implement, and sustain effective financial control systems while maintaining KPI performance monitoring, conducting ad-hoc analyses, and driving process improvements.
  • Enhance financial performance metrics such as sales, margins, profits, cash flow, and return on investment.
  • Develop the finance functions within the organization and effectively build the capabilities of these teams through improved systems, processes, training, and development.
  • Lead and mentor direct reports, ensuring high performance standards while fostering a culture of continuous learning and challenge.
  • Assist the CFO in managing foreign exchange exposure and hedging strategies as necessary, given the international supply chain and currency dynamics.
  • Support the CFO in nurturing relationships with the Group's stakeholders.
  • Manage and optimize working capital by overseeing the Group's management of debtors, creditors, inventory controls, and related systems.
  • Proactively monitor and report on financial covenants and cash flow forecasts.
  • Coordinate and oversee the company secretarial and legal services required by the organization.

To be considered for the role of Senior Financial Operations Manager, candidates must possess:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with 5-10 years of post-qualification experience, possessing extensive technical expertise in multi-currency consolidations, international taxation, and group cash flows.
  • Prior experience in a senior finance position within a global organization.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficient in managing a large team while motivating members to pursue continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of leadership and teamwork.
  • Significant experience in working capital management, treasury operations, and currency risk management.
  • Proficient in financial software systems and adept at implementing business systems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to partner with the business and influence decision-making within the senior leadership team.

  • Experience with Microsoft Navision and/or Business Central.
  • Previous experience in a retail or similar business environment.
