About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Strategy Manager to join our team at SSE Enterprise. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our climate strategy to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions in line with science-based targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain SSE Enterprise's climate strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with best practice and ensure alignment with the latest voluntary and mandatory requirements on transition plan disclosures.
  • Act as SSE Enterprise's subject matter expert on greenhouse gas emissions and decarbonization strategies.
  • Work with colleagues across SSE Enterprise to prepare and implement an annual action plan to deliver the climate strategy and contribute to working groups and decarbonization initiatives across the business.
  • Report on SSE Enterprise's GHG emissions performance contributing to annual sustainability reporting, and meeting climate disclosure and non-financial reporting requirements.
  • Advocate with stakeholders externally and internally on SSE Enterprise's sustainability ambition and performance, and enhance SSE Enterprise's reputation and visibility.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Climate Strategy Manager who has a proven track record of developing and implementing climate strategies in a similar role. You will have expertise in GHG emissions reduction planning and accounting principles, as well as a demonstrable understanding of the energy industry and working knowledge of regulated markets.

You will be a strong communicator and team player, with the ability to build cross-discipline working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will also have a passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving innovation and finding solutions within a diverse engineering-focused organization.
