Role Overview
In this position, you will serve as a Correctional Facility Security Officer, ensuring the safety and security of contractors within a correctional environment.

Key Responsibilities
As a Security Officer, your duties will include:

  • Maintaining accurate records of contractors' tools and equipment.
  • Escorting contractors to designated work areas while ensuring all security measures are adhered to.
  • Safeguarding the contractors and their equipment during the duration of their work.
  • Escorting contractors back to the main exit, ensuring all security gates and doors are secured.
  • Documenting the departure of contractors and their tools to prevent any loss or misplacement.

Additional Duties
You may also be required to assist with various support service activities within operational areas as needed.

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong sense of security awareness and the ability to identify potential risks.
  • Reliability and a commitment to maintaining safety protocols.
  • Security clearance, which will be facilitated by Hays.
  • A valid form of identification, such as a passport or a birth certificate along with a photo driving license.

Compensation and Benefits
This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £10.42, with weekly payments. You will receive comprehensive training relevant to the position, providing valuable experience in a correctional setting that may enhance future employment opportunities within the Ministry of Justice.

Working Hours
Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:45 PM, including a 1-hour unpaid break. Please note that hours may vary based on specific projects.
